Fortress
Fortress is a stealth Chromium engine for scrapers and AI agents from the startup Tilion, launched in July 2026; its Show HN thread was mostly a debate about the ethics of evading bot blocks rather than hands-on reports. GitHub users report detection by Fingerprint.com, a TLS fingerprint that differs from stock Chrome, blocks on sites that judge IP reputation, crashes on older CPUs and Debian 13, and an unstable Docker image. The team answered early reports within days, but several from August and September 2026 are still open.

Since September 2026 Fortress uses a source-available license: it is free for development and testing, and for production use by individuals and by organizations under US$500,000 in funding and US$300,000 in annual recurring revenue. Larger organizations pay US$2,000 per month, billed in three-month terms. The current engine needs a free key obtained by signing in; without one, only the public first-generation engine runs.

Plans & pricing
In September 2026 Tilion moved Fortress from the BSD-3-Clause license to its own source-available license, which requires a paid subscription for production use by larger organizations.

Antidetect browsers are used to run several accounts side by side, for ad verification and for privacy. Using them to break a platform’s rules can still get accounts banned.
