How we calculate this
We read 18 signals any website can access without asking: operating system, browser and version, screen size and pixel ratio, time zone, languages, graphics card and model, CPU cores, device memory, touch support, how your device draws a test image (canvas) and renders a test sound (audio), installed fonts, color and HDR support, theme and accessibility preferences, and Do Not Track settings. For each one we estimate how common your value is, from anonymous counts of earlier tests blended with rough market-share data. Details tied to your hardware are only compared with similar devices, and overlapping signals are discounted so nothing is counted twice. Your type depends on whether you use a VPN or proxy, whether your signals contradict each other, and how rare your combination is.
We never store your IP address or your fingerprint — only anonymous counts of rounded values.
