Privacy Policy

Last updated October 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Yuncedria Technologies Inc. (“FingerBrowser”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use fingerbrowser.com and its tools. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where it applies, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The short version

  • No accounts, no ad trackers and no cookies for tracking.
  • The tools run in your browser. We don’t store your IP address or your fingerprint.
  • To estimate how rare a setting is, we add one to anonymous counters of rounded values, such as “screen 1920×1080”. These counts can’t be linked back to you.

What we process and why

Browser fingerprint tools. The personality test and the fingerprint check read details from your browser (for example screen size, language, time zone and graphics card) and run their analysis in your browser. To show your IP address, location and network, our API reads the IP address of your request and returns it to you. We don’t save that response.

Anonymous census counters. When you take the personality test, your browser sends rounded values for 18 signals: operating system, browser and major version, screen size and pixel ratio, time zone, preferred languages, graphics vendor and model, CPU cores, device memory, touch support, color and HDR support, theme and accessibility preferences, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control settings, and short hashes (8 characters) of how your device draws a test image, renders a test sound and which of about 60 common fonts are installed. It also sends your result type and whether your connection leaked an extra IP address through WebRTC or came from a hosting provider, grouped by country. For each value we increase a separate counter by one. We do not store your IP address, a timestamp, any identifier or the combination of your values, so the counts cannot be linked to you or to each other. We use the totals to estimate rarity and to publish aggregate statistics.

Interaction counters. When you run the fingerprint check, copy its report, copy or compare a profile isolation code, or share a test result, we add one to an anonymous counter for that action. For the fingerprint check we also count whether the run found an earlier check saved in your browser, so we know how many checks come from returning visitors. Nothing else is stored with these counts: no IP address, identifier, timestamp or check result.

Profile isolation codes. The fingerprint check shows a code made of short hashes (8 characters) of 14 signals, such as your IP address, time zone and graphics card, so you can compare two browser profiles. The comparison runs in your browser; the code reaches us only if you send it to us yourself.

Website operation and security. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and request details to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. Security and error logs are kept for a limited period, normally no more than 30 days. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies or track you across sites.

Email. If you email us, we use your message and address to reply.

Preferences. We store your language choice and dismissed notices in your browser’s local storage. So that retaking the test doesn’t count the same browser twice, we also keep a short hash of the rounded values that were already counted, for up to 30 days. The fingerprint check keeps your last five results (score, pass or fail for each check, and the hashed isolation code) so it can show what changed since your previous check; you can clear them on the page. None of this leaves your device.

Some pages contain affiliate links. When you click one, the partner may set its own cookies to attribute a purchase, under its own privacy policy. We don’t receive personal information about you from partners — at most anonymous totals of clicks and commissions.

We process information based on our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the Service and in publishing aggregate statistics, and to answer your messages.

Sharing and transfers

We share information only with service providers that help run the Service, mainly Cloudflare (hosting, network and analytics). They may process data outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or object to its processing. Because we don’t store personal data from the tools, there is usually nothing to retrieve. Contact privacy@fingerbrowser.com. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your local data protection authority.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We will post changes on this page and update the date above.
